If you're looking for a very cool, unique and memorable place to stay, you've found it here. The Rose is a 1920's craftsman, completely rebuilt from the foundation 8 years ago. With an open space concept kitchen and living room, along with 3 bedrooms, the Rose can accommodate 6.
Relax in front of the river stone fireplace, soak in the tub in the beautiful ambiance of our styled bathroom (with luxurious robes), or indulge in the beauty of the hand picked, rough-hewn scraped floors.
In the mornings, enjoy a wonderful outdoor living space with breathtaking views of the red cliffs, or chill out later in the warm summer evenings with a barbeque. Talk a walk to the main street of town which is a short two blocks away for a quick coffee or lovely dinner.
The beds at the Rose are superior quality for top comfort and are richly covered with luxurious bedding. The shabby chic interior and poured cement floors all add up to a relaxing atmosphere and charming boutique experience. You won't forget this!
We also own the Southwestern Cottage and have been in the vacation rental business since 2002.

This was a good home base to explore Escalante slot canyons, Zion and Bryce (though Bryce is a full 90 minutes away). We were traveling with a dog and the canine part of our group was very happy. The owners are definitely going for shabby chic and have totally committed to that. The beds were very comfortable and the shower / bath was strong and hot. Much appreciated after days hiking in the canyons. Other parts of the house itself are quirky. Some of the elements are less than optimal. The dining table is basically unusable as it is wobbly tin. The kitchen is split into two parts separated by some distance and little counter space. Cooking is awkward. On balance, this was a win.
Comfortable beds, lots of outdoor space to enjoy the days and and nights (watches a meteor shower from the front porch one night!). Enjoyed the dip in the pool at the Kanab Boutique hotel as well. Great kitchen & grill to enjoy a dinner at home and perfectly located to explore all of the areas natural wonders.
Sasha, Thank you for taking the time to review and we are happy to hear you and your family enjoyed staying at The Rose Cottage. We hope to have you with us again one day!
In general, it is a little cozy home away from home and good location. However, the house need some maintenance. The blinds in bed rooms did not come down fully. The stove required matches to lit. The basement/laundry room was a bit messy. It will be a good stay if you do not mind those little things.
We loved our little bungalow in Kanab. Charming and well located for Zion and Bryce Nat'l Park. Nicely decorated. We wish the window screens had been better maintained. We enjoy cool nights in clean air, but were not able to leave the windows open. A very minor distraction for a lovely home.
We chose the cottage for its charm and location, and we were spot on! My 86 year old father-in-law wished to see the national parks. Central to Zion,Bryce and the Grand canyon, we chose Kanab. It is a charming, quiet, and clean city. Our delight, was the cottage. It was styled in contemporary, shabby chick; in a nice neighborhood and in walking distance to restaurants and shops. We hope to return.
We have enjoyed staying at both Kanab Cottages. Both cottages are comfortable, clean, light, and centrally located. They are very convenient and close to Best Friends Sanctuary, and we love how both homes allow for overnight stays. All the bedrooms are clean and comfortable, We prefer the Southwestern Cottage for the kitchen area, as this has limited prep surfaces, but we like this home for it's bright and homey feel in the living room area. The owner is helpful, professional, honest, and you can count on a wonderful experience. We look forward to another trip! (Be sure to eat at the Rocking V in Kanab...excellent service and food).
Charming, beautiful retreat. This well-appointed cottage is a great home away from home. It is spacious and comfortable with fabulous amenities, such as large, comfy beds, a wonderful backyard/patio area, laundry, and a huge kitchen/living area. A great choice if you plan to stay in the Kanab area, with close proximity to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion. I particularly enjoyed our overnight visitor--a furry friend from the Sanctuary. He was precious!
The Rose is a great stay for anyone heading to Kanab - highly recommended! I arrived late on a Sunday night after a long trip and the interior was clean and inviting & felt like coming "home". There are so many personal touches at this property that make it special - comfortable beds and bathrooms, a kitchen with everything needed to settle in, and a fantasic location in a beautiful area of residential Kanab. Downtown and the restaurants & attractions are all a short walk away as well.
